Once planning permission has been obtained, most projects will require Building Regulation approval before the work can be carried out.
At jbA we produce a comprehensive Building Regulation package, comprising of construction drawings and specifications, in order to obtain full Building Control approval from the relevant authorities. As part of our Building Regulation service we liaise closely with structural engineers and drainage engineers, if required, who will provide all relevant specialist documentation.
At this stage, we also offer to prepare the drawing package for tender, in order to establish an accurate cost of the project. In addition to the Building Regulation documentation, the tender package includes detailed specifications, joinery schedules, room data sheets including M&E requirements, and a schedule of works.
Our tender packages are issued to our recommended local contractors to price. We understand that finding the right contractor is an important part of the build process, so once tenders have been returned, we will produce a detailed comparative analysis, to aid the decision process.
Before you start any building work it is always wise to check whether Building Regulations approval is needed. Here at jbA we are always free to discuss your project and offer technical advice to determine whether this is a service you will require.
